Chris let us in when we rang the doorbell and there you came, running down the stairs. Unfortunately you missed a stair and bounced all the way to the bottom. I thought you must have been at least half rubber ball to pull off such a feat without so much as a wrinkle in your clothes let alone bruises and breaks.
Boy and other boy were there but they were too busy building a mammoth Lego castle to pay much attention to what we were up to. I think the castle was at 5 foot by the time we left. It was an amazing little hut / clubhouse and I was really impressed with what they had done. Do they still have it or has their invention become something bigger and better since?
You served Lasagne and Pie for dinner but I think you had been somewhere else while cooking them because the pasta was on the pie and the pastry was in the lasagne. Surprisingly, after all the laughs, they were delicious and Geoff was ‘forced to have seconds and thirds. Dessert was a little more orderly – Apple Pie with Custard and cream, oh yes and a touch of mince – I think you forgot which pie was which when you were making them, oh well it was nice for a laugh just the same.
We had planned to spend the night playing cards but it turned out the boy and other boy had actually used the cards to wall paper their castle and the only other cards you had were not exactly appropriate for your guests to see. What exactly were you doing with cards of naked ladies? The evening wasn’t lost though because it meant we got to invent our own game, guys verses girls. Those poor guys tried as they might but they could not beat us (it does help when we were the one who made the rules though).
I really enjoyed looking at your HUNDREDS of photo albums of people I didn’t know. Don’t you love it when people do that to you? There you are looking at all these pictures that mean nothing to you what so ever and you have to smile and be polite. It was kind of a shame that you spilt your Red Grape juice onto the album though. My what a clumsy night it was for you.
The rest of the night went problem free, that is until you fell over again and went slamming into Geoff who was then knocked into me and I into Chris who finally knocked over that statue in the front foyer. I am glad bubble is such a good catch. I would have hated for you to lose that piece, it looked priceless.
Well it was a good night anyway and I am glad we did it. It is also good to know that other dinner dates have not been quite so full of errors but then things like that are always good for a laugh. I suspect that if we had a video camera on us at the time you would have easily won on AFV. Oh well isn’t that always the way.
