Comfort Foods
Rita M. Harris
If you've been looking for a classic dish that you
remember from childhood picnics and family reunions, this is the
book for you! It covers everything from Chicken Pot Pie to homemade Kahlua using instant coffee
and vodka. The only thing not to like is that most of the
recipes are not quick to make, and you will definitely need to have your
cholesterol checked after eating some of the entrees!

Girl Food
Cathy Guisewite and Barbara Albright
So sue me, I've been on a cookbook jag here recently.
This book gets counted off on several counts. First, there wasn't enough
"Cathy" to really justify calling it "Cathy's cookbook". I was definitely
expecting more humor. The other downer was that I didn't
run across even one recipe that made me want to run out
and try it. If you're a Cathy fan, skip it and find
one of the strip collections instead.

Dealing With People You Can't Stand
Dr. Rick Brinkman and Dr. Rick Kirschner
I found this to be a very helpful book if you are confronted with a
person that you can't stand, let alone understand. By breaking people down
into several common personality types, the book helps you take a more
objective look at what's going on. I also loved the
many illustrative stories. My main complaint would be that not every
difficult-to-deal with person fits into the stereotypes.
But overall, a great read for the would-be diplomat.
